"Raid in Entebbe"

A big attraction in Aero Beach is the original plane carrying Israeli passengers that was hijacked by terrorists and landed in Entebbe.  Israeli commandos flew over and freed the hostages.  The only assault force casualty was the leader, Lieutenant Colonel Yonatan Netanyahu - the brother of former Israeli Prime Minister and current Israeli Knesset member, Benjamin Netanyahu. 
The rescue operation was made into a movie - 'Raid in Entebbe'.

Inside the plane

Other than being painted over with the Uganda flag colours, nothing has been done with it and has not been maintained at all.  It just sits there on the field.






People can climb up - through the wing - and go inside and explore.
